Gahanbar

Gahanbars are 6 festivals in Zoroastrianism that are sporadically spread throughout the year. The celebration takes place in the form of feasts. However, the celebration and dates depends on what community one belongs to. For instance, Parsis in India might celebrate a gahanbar on a different day with different rituals compared to a Zoroastrian in Iran.

The festivals are:

Maidyozarem - the mid-spring feast

Maidyoshahem- the mid-summer feast

Paitishahem- the feast for incoming harvest

Ayathrem- the feast for bringing home the herds

Maidyarem- the winter feast

Hamaspathmaidyem- the feast of all souls (celebrating humans)
